Ensemble ‘La Chicane’ consists of three musicians and friends who share a mutual love for exploring and performing chamber music from the 17th and 18th century. The members are Cécile Chartrain (harpsichord), Yan Ma (baroque violin), and Anne-Linde Visser (viola da gamba & baroque cello). They can be heard regularly with leading orchestras but also pursue careers as soloists and chamber music players. Coming from different cultures and schools, they are always on the look for the most beautiful repertoire, presenting programs with both known and unknown music. They received advises from renowned musicians such as Amandine Beyer, Marc Hantaï, Blandine Rannou, Enrico Gatti. In 2020 they will follow a course with Amandine Beyer & Gli Incogniti about the relation between music and movement. In 2018 La Chicane was awarded the third prize in the 40th international competition for early music ensembles in Lausanne (CH). They have also performed in various festivals in Europe, such as the Vannes early music institute (FR), Uitmarkt Amsterdam (NL) and in the fringe of the MA festival Brugge (BE) and the Utrecht Early Music Festival (NL). |
